Lunacy: Silver and Moonstone Brooch

A pale silver crescent's horns wrap gently around to embrace a large rainbow moonstone.

The silver is a spiculum- a hollow tapered tube made of sterling silver and carefully shaped. The gem is a large iridescent rainbow moonstone cabochon. The additional photos show some of the iridescence of the moonstone, which varies vividly in different lights.

The spiculum for the crescent is handmade and shaped to accent the stone, while keeping the whole brooch surprisingly light in weight.

Crescent: 2.125 x 2.125 in (52 x 52 mm); Rainbow Moonstone: 1.625 in (16mm) diameter.
