Russian Filigree Heart

My first piece using many of the techniques taught in Victoria Lansford's fabulous DVD, Metal Techniques of Bronze Age Masters: Russian Filigree.

I did a few things differently, based on what I had. The most notable difference was that I used medium solder in either tiny chips or paste form rather than the special solder she recommends. I'm sure this was a bit more difficult than using powdered would have been, but it was what I had. Next time I hope to use the proper stuff!

The design is basically hers, too, with only a few minor alterations- which is why it's not for sale.

Sterling silver, fine silver, rose quartz, garnet.
