A Scottish clan badge for the MacNeils of Barra. The client provided several versions of the artwork, which I blended into a pleasing whole, then used to create the sterling pendant using the "lost wax" method of casting. I then added the handmade bail and patinated it using liver of sulfur (a traditional way to add a dark grey contrast into the recesses of silver work). The finish is lightly brushed rather than polished to a high shine, to add to the contrast and the look of age.

Sterling silver.

2002. Sold.
